Dr. Karunakar is a UK-trained reproductive medicine specialist with strong NHS experience in West Yorkshire, where he completed his RCOG/RCR Ultrasound Diploma and a Fetal Medicine Fellowship. In 2001, he joined the renowned Bourn Hall Clinic in Cambridge — the birthplace of IVF founded by Professor Robert Edwards — where he established a hysteroscopy service and contributed to research. He later completed his CCST and a Recurrent Miscarriage Fellowship at St Mary’s Hospital, London. Since 2010, he has been a sessional consultant at Care Fertility UK, specialising in complex infertility and recurrent miscarriage, with a clear, evidence-based and patient-focused approach.
